A Day of Keeping Texas Cool: Life as an HVAC Tech in McKinney
6:00 AM – Rise and Shine
The day starts early at Joplin’s Air Conditioning & Heating. After checking my morning weather forecast, I know we’re in for another scorching Texas day. Summer means our phones will be ringing non-stop with calls from McKinney to Prosper.
7:00 AM – First Call
My first stop is in Plano, where a family’s heat pump isn’t performing efficiently. These early appointments are crucial – nobody wants to wait when their AC isn’t working properly, especially in our Texas heat.
10:30 AM – Emergency Service
An urgent call comes in from Allen. A commercial building’s air conditioning system has completely stopped working. These situations require quick thinking and efficient problem-solving. After diagnosing a failing capacitor, I’m able to get their system back up and running.
1:00 PM – New Installation
The afternoon takes me to Fairview for a scheduled AC replacement. It’s satisfying work, knowing that we’re providing long-term comfort solutions for our customers.
